Family Literacy Center

Families are invited to join other parents and children for activities, information, and resources at the Title I Family Center.  All programs and activities are free.  The activities are supported by funds from the St. Charles Parish Public Schools Title I program.

Families may check out learning materials and resources to support learning from the Family Center Library.

Family Literacy Playgroups

Playgroups are both learning and support opportunities for parents and ‘social’ playtime for children aged from birth to 5 years old.  Playgroups for preschool children and their families or caregivers are held on the first and third Monday of each month at 2:00.  We offer activities and programs designed to provide young children and families with tools to help their young children be prepared for Kindergarten.  Children can play, learn, explore, and make friends in a comfortable family-centered setting. 

Parent Workshops

We know that the educational system is ever-changing. To continually support our children, the Family Center will sponsor various parent workshops, volunteer days, and FACT (Family and Child Time) sessions throughout the year.  Look for these workshops on our calendar.

Learn With Us Bus

The Learn With Us Bus is a mobile family education resource for parents, similar to the Family Centers in the elementary schools in our district. The Learn With Us Bus provides books, toys, and games for children, preschool through second grade, internet access for parents to access school forms and information, and information about additional community resources available to St. Charles Parish residents.
