Ms. Theresial Chatman

I began my career in education in Terrebonne Parish, LA in 2011 where I taught kindergarten and first grade. In 2016, I relocated to St. Charles Parish and begin to work at New Sarpy Elementary as a kindergarten teacher. While there, I served in a variety of leadership roles that include Grade Level Representative, School Improvement Team member, School Improvement Team Committee chairperson, and mentor teacher to new teachers. I have worked at the district level to develop curriculum, while also being a part of curriculum study groups and piloting programs.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in education with my certification in Pre-K-3rd in 2011 and my Master's degree in Educational Leadership in 2017, both from Nicholls State University.

I have two handsome, intelligent sons, Canaan and Kyrem and, as a resident of St. Charles Parish, I am looking forward to having them become a part of our wonderful public school system.

It is an honor to begin my 3rd year as one of the two Assistant Principals of Mimosa Park Elementary. I am excited and eager to continue working with the Pelican Family. I believe that leaders must first serve, and I will lead by serving students and teachers in all capacities. Please know that I am here to help and support you in any way that I can.
