Mimosa Park Elementary is dedicated to delivering high-quality instruction in order to develop empowered, empathetic, and responsible lifelong learners.

Mimosa Park Elementary School, a public school approximately 25 miles from New Orleans, first opened its doors in 1961 as a K-8 school. With more than 60 years of academic service, Mimosa Park remains a vital, well respected institution in the community, revered for its tradition of academic excellence.

Annual Special Olympics Event Doubles 2024 Participation

The St. Charles Parish Public Schools Special Education Department, in partnership with River Parishes Special Olympics, hosted its second annual Special Olympics event on March 27 in the Destrehan High School Stadium. The event more than doubled in size from its inaugural year, with more than 100 athletes participating in a full day of track and field competitions, celebration, and community spirit.

Just the Facts: A Recap of the March School Board Meeting

The St. Charles Parish School Board held its monthly meeting on March 26, 2025, at the Professional Learning Center in Luling. Agenda items included resolutions/proclamations, student and employee recognition, personnel, bid authorization requests, request for/approval of proposals, renewal of property insurance, revisions to policy, and purchase of school buses.

YALL Fest Inspires Young Musicians Through Performance and Professional Feedback

The Dr. Rodney R. Lafon Performing Arts Center was filled with the sounds of student musicians as St. Charles Parish Public Schools hosted Young Artists Live at the Lafon Center, also known as YALL Fest. This exciting event provided school bands and choirs with a pre-festival, workshop-style performance, allowing them to refine their skills and grow as artists.
